From seasonal worker to permanent staff: Tomi, Kuusamo Airport

Tomi was only supposed to work in Kuusamo during the winter season, but he got his first permanent job in the snowmobile landscape! Meet Tomi from Kuusamo Airport, all ready for upcoming winter season.

What is your career path like in Airpro?

"I applied to work at Kuusamo Airport for the winter season and started in November 2023. Airport security seemed very interesting. To my delight, my employment was made permanent after the winter season and I am very happy about it!"

What is the best thing about your job?

"The team spirit. Everyone is busy during the season, but the atmosphere remains positive. We find time to laugh and chat together despite the hectic work hours."

What are some of your most memorable moments at work?

"Airpro is my first permanent job, it's memorable in itself. The apron is really interesting to watch, and the basic work at the security check is nice customer service work. The tourists who come to see the winter in Lapland are usually in a good mood."

What do we Airpro people have in common?

"Airpro people are professional. Work is done carefully and is not left unfinished. And I haven’t met a negative colleague yet."

What would you say to those looking for a job at Kuusamo Airport?

"I would recommend Airpro as an employer! The work is sometimes hectic, but really nice. I'm looking forward to introducing new employees to the winter season as I get to learn myself at the same time. I wish it was winter already!

Kuusamo is a great place in winter time, there's plenty to do here. Ruka is right next door, and there are 900 km of snowmobile trails here, 600 km of which are maintained. Snowmobiling is my number one thing in winter, I love to go on winter trips in nature."
