Airpro supports Luxair as ground handling partner as new Helsinki–Luxembourg route takes off

Airpro, Finland’s leading aviation services provider, is pleased to support Luxair as the airline’s ground handling partner at Helsinki Airport. Under the agreement, Airpro provides Luxair with ground handling services including ramp and passenger services, supporting the airline’s operations safely and reliably from arrival to departure. The partership strenghtens connectivity betweeen Helsinki and Luxembourg.

Operations on the new Helsinki–Luxembourg route started today, 2 July 2026, connecting Finland and Luxembourg year-round. The route is operated with Luxair’s modern Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, known for its advanced technology, efficient performance and quieter onboard experience.

Teemu Puustinen, Head of Ground Handling HEL, at Airpro celebrates the route launch and parternship:

"We are proud to partner with Luxair and support the airline’s operations at Helsinki Airport as ground handling partner. It is an honour for us to be part of enabling the launch of this new route to Helsinki. This launch is made possible by close cooperation and by our skilled Airpro team, who ensure safe and reliable operations, and high-quality passenger experience operations every day. At Airpro, we enable journeys, and look forward to welcoming the airline under our care at Helsinki Airport."

Luxair operates seasonal charter flights to Rovaniemi, where Airpro also support the airline’s operations on the ground. The new Helsinki operations bring the cooperation to Helsinki Airport and extend Airpro’s local ground handling expertise to Luxair’s new route.

Mario Mezek, Head of Ground Operations, at Luxair:

"With Airpro as our ground handling partner, we have a reliable team supporting our operations on the ground at Helsinki Airport. Strong partnerships are essential for maintaining safe operations and passengers experience, and Airpro’s expertise in Finland supports our operations from the very first flight. Our existing cooperation, which already includes our seasonal charter operations to Rovaniemi, gives us a strong foundation to build on."

Founded in 1961, Luxair is Luxembourg’s airline, connecting the country to more than 100 destinations across Europe and beyond. In 2025, the airline carried over 2.6 million passengers and is renewing its fleet with new-generation aircraft, including the Embraer E195-E2, deployed on the new route.

Airpro supports Luxair’s turnarounds with low-emission ground support equipment. Electric ground support equipment and renewable fuels are part of Airpro’s daily operations at Helsinki Airport, helping minimise direct emissions from the ramp services provided for Luxair. Around 70% of our ground support equipment fleet are electronic. In practice, this means that Airpro’s own direct emissions from these ground handling operations are significantly lower than with conventional fossil fuel-powered equipment.

For Airpro, the agreement reflects the company’s role in enabling journeys through safe and partner-focused aviation services. By combining local operational expertise, responsible ground handling solutions and close cooperation with airline partners, Airpro helps ensure that each flight is supported smoothly on the ground.

Airpro warmly welcomes Luxair to Helsinki Airport and is pleased to support the airline’s operations in Finland.
